Description

Neil Fernandes was a guitarist and singer songwriter with the Manikins, one of the biggest bands in Perth in the late 70's and early 80’s.

The Manikins and their previous incarnations at different times featured such Australian musical luminaries as Dave Faulkner (The Hoodoo Gurus) and Kim Salmon (The Scientists) and featured music that was rooted in pop, new wave and punk that made a national impact.

The Manikins had several residencies in Perth, including the Broadway Tavern in Nedlands and Hernando's Hideaway and they also resided in Melbourne for a time.

In recent years, Neil has returned to music and has released new material as a solo artist with the release of Salon Hang in 2021 and Porch Songs in 2022, reflecting a new song writing approach with acoustic guitar, clean licks and heartfelt folk melodies.

The Snake Charmers are a Midland and Maylands based rock and roll band that play an eclectic atmospheric range of originals and covers.

Their choice of cover songs indicates their musical influences including Warren Zevon, Tom Waites, Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave.

The Snake Charmers feature Dan Keel on vocals, Trevor Osborne on bass, Mark Wheeler on guitar, Penny Leith on keyboards and vocals and Pete Lukasz on drums. Pete Lukasz has also previously released a solo album entitled Loves Shadow.
